Kroogi Albums Contest Finalists
Thanks to everyone who submitted tracks to Kroogi-albums! The short-list winners will be announced December 1st. The final tracks will be put onto a compilation that includes tracks from prominent artists Goatika Creative Lab and Alex Theory (also the album's producer), released on limited edition CD and promoted on the like any other release. It will be available for download exclusively through Kroogi.

This first album is dedicated to electronic music, and we thank these artists that supported our community.

We are proud to announce the changes in the contest setup. This is our final announcement:

The album will be produced by world renown electronic artist Alex Theory in his studio in San Francisco in November 2009.

By Alex's request we are extending the timeline to October 31, 2006. Once Alex reviews all the tracks, he will go into production. Upon the beginning of the production process, we will publish the initial list of the artists who made it to our first album.

While we are working on the paperwork with the winners, another contest for the cover will take place.

The final version will be mastered and published on the physical carrier along with digital distribution channels.

Kroogi is releasing a compilation album!

Attention all electronic music producers!

We are looking for twelve unique, fascinating compositions to feature on our first compilation album to be released and distributed through Kroogi. We won't tell you what style it should be (any style is welcome – techno, dub, trance, ambient, and whatever else) – we are mostly interested in the atmospheric and compositional elements of your track.

Imagine yourself at a party in the middle of a giant desert, lasting 24 hours, midnight to midnight. What would the DJ be playing? Something intense, dark, or frightening? Ecstatic, optimistic, joyful?

If you were the DJ, how would you translate into sound the sand, sun, the day's scorching heat and night's darkness and chill, and the excitement of the crowd?

Could you do it in just one track?

The deadline to submit your tracks is September 15, 2009 23:59 PM Pacific Standard Time. Please submit MP3s in 192 kbps only. Out of all submissions, we will carefully choose twelve tracks that we feel best fit the criteria above. The album will be mastered by our sound engineers and released digitally on Kroogi.

The final decision of which tracks appear on the album is based entirely on the personal preferences of this Project’s hosts. To avoid any potential copyright issues with your submission, be as clear as possible about copyright information related to your track such as the actual writers of your material, who participated in production, and if you have full rights to distribute your material.

You should be able to give us non-exclusive rights for the distribution of this track on our album.

Tracks that fit certain standards of sound quality, ambience, and adhere to the written criteria above will be immediately chosen for the second round (Note: tracks chosen for the second round are not guaranteed to appear on the Kroogi compilation album). Then, we will choose the final tracks for the Kroogi compilation album.

Before the official album release, we will ask prominent musicians (names to be announced) to review the album and give their feedback for each of the twelve featured tracks.
